Falling
He never thought he would love like this as he stared at your figure under the haze of the rain and the street lights. You were beautiful drenched and dancing into puddles. This is the love of his life, the mother of his children and pets, the bearer of his light, the half of his soul - all of that is you and he is sure of it and that terrified him. You both weren't supposed to be in love, you told him not to love you after all. What you both have is just something physical but he of course, caught feelings as he watched you outside of the bedroom activities you both engage passionately. He was fucked. He knew it the moment your lips stretched into a smile after he kissed you with all his heart.
He wants you to be his and for him to be yours but he knew that it wasn't something he could ever ask of you and so he forces himself to be content in the images inside his head of what ifs and could've beens as he held you tight at dawn after every session. He had it planned out in his head you know? He'd confess after he asks you to meet him out one night, under the stars with a blanket shared he'd whisper his adoration and luckily you would accept him in all his fuck ups and twisted fantasies. All of these statched in his head for that perfect timing, when the stars shine their brightest or when the weather was cold enough for a blanket - all of it prepared and planned. He was ready for you.
He liked to think you were also ready for him and that was his first mistake. It was like he didn't knew you and in a way, he really didn't. If he did then you would be staying overnight after the haze has cleared, you would've been basking in his arms in secret but you didn't. You were eager to get away and when he noticed this it was already too late, you already left your shape in his bed. The second mishap was expecting he was the only one. He was too complacent in his place in your life, you come to him for sex - he assumed that he was the only one you do that with because too was only seeing you. If only he didn't disregard you telling him you were safe and clean every time your bodies intertwine, he thought it was obvious that you were after all he was the only one right? He was a fool of course, now he knew as he stared at you smile at another man holding your hand. He tried to once again reason out, maybe he was just a relative or a friend but the kiss you both shared shattered the rose colored lenses in front of his eyes, along with his heart. His last mistake was thinking you would care if whatever you both had ended. He realized he was the only one that did the moment his phone ceased buzzing because of you after he ended everything. He thought you would at least try to call him, heck even a text of a dot would've sufficed. He would've crawled back to you so quick if you just said you wanted him back. Yet here he was just staring at his front door, regret brewing in his head that cleared out of its delusions.
He fell alone but that's alright, he will meet this ending with a smile for at least he felt the ghost of your lips against his in his dreams.
